English Antiques and the weakness of the US Dollar
Many wonder if it’s worth importing all the way to Boston antique pieces from Europe in this economy, with the US Dollar at record low levels against the Euro.
That’s pretty surprising to hear, but it happens more often.
The surprise is to see how distant many Americans are from Europe in the sense that they don’t know that the United Kingdom never joined the European single currency, called Euro, and is therefore not affected by the bad exchange rate Euro-USD.
Instead the British Pound Sterling is used in the UK (GBP) and that is hitting record low levels to the Euro just like the USD!
So yes, as far as currency values are concerned, it’ makes perfect sense to import quality antiques from England!
The matter is actually a lot more complicated because many other factors play a huge role in making the imports worthwhile, but you’ll be able to read more about the subject soon, here on our news and information blog.
